Wimmer and KeyMotorsports Ready For O’Reilly Auto Parts 300

PRLog (Press Release)– Apr 07, 2011– Scott Wimmer and his #40 Key Motorsports squad embark on Texas Motor Speedway for this weekend's O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 this Friday night on ESPN2 at 8:30pm looking to make certain strides that will bode them ve audi ry well as the season progresses.

"We've stated all year that we're a Top-15 team, but have encountered engine reliability issues in three of our races so far," said Scott Wimmer. "When we haven't had issues, we've been able to show very strong. Curtis and the Key Motorsports team are making changes that we're hoping will help our reliability so we can get some good points results in Texas and Talladega, two races that are high horsepower races"

The teams Top-15 goals with Wimmer at the controls seem realistic enough, especially given Wimmers six Top-15 results, and two Top-10's in his seven NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway in his career. Wimmer has an average finish of 13th at the famed circuit, and looks to continue that trend this weekend. A solid points finish couldn't come soon enough for the hard fighting team as Wimmer currently sits in 22nd in the Driver Championship standings, some nine points out of the Top-20, with Curtis Key in 31st position in Team Owner Championship standings, a me rc helicopter and car market place re one point out of the coveted Top-30 that gives you an automatic place in the field of 43, and eliminates that go-or-go-home situation that no team looks forward too.

Scott Wimmer originally hails from Wausau, Wi buick sconsin. He carved his mark on the short tracks in the Midwest throughout the 1990's and became recognized as the dominant force in racing throughout the Midwest. Wimmer captured the eye of top NASCAR owners after he entered the American Speed Association (ASA) and claimed victories in the first two races he competed in. Wimmer tallied two Top-5 and eight Top-10 finishes in his rookie year of the Busch Series that put him 11th in the championship standings. In the 2007 season, Wimmer (along with teammate Jeff Burton) won the NASCAR Busch Series season owner points championship for Richard Childress Racing. The duo finished 3rd in the NASCAR Nationwide Series standings in 2008, while Wimmer posted his 6th career NASCAR win. In 2009, Wimmer ran 29 races for Curtis Key Sr. and Key Motorsports with a season best finish of 7th at Memphis. He resides in North Carolina with his wife, Jody and son, Hayden.
