"We are thrilled to partner with Sprint to help sustainability-minded consumers take action," said Victoria Waters, president of GEF. "Volunteerism and advocacy are some of the best ways to introduce schools to exciting GEF programs, like National Green Week." During National Green Week 2010 over 3 million students were enrolled with 750,000 pledging to carry their drinks and snacks in reusable containers during GEF's Waste-Free Snacks Challenge, effectively eliminating over 300,000 lbs of trash in just five days.
"At Sprint we are committed to providing mobility products and solutions for a better planet," said Ralph Reid, vice president of corporate responsibility for Sprint. "The GEF app in the Green ID pack is a great way for customers to learn about eco-challenges and other opportunities in their communities."
