John F. Kennedy's Lincoln Presidential Limousine

This 1962 Lincoln Continental Limousine was equipped with a "bubble top" that allowed the occupants to be seen while keeping them safe from bodily harm and protecting them from bad weather. Delivered new to the White House, it was used by President and Mrs. Kennedy and numerous other dignitaries and heads of state including Pope Paul IV, President Lyndon B. Johnson, and Ferdinand Marcos, the President of the Philippines.

This car was the second Lincoln acquired by the White House during the Kennedy administration. Engineered and built by Hess & Eisenhardt, it was equipped with flag mounts on the front fenders, dual air conditioning systems, a radiotelephone for rear seat passengers, and specially directed interior lights that enabled the car's occupants to be seen at night.

The Lincoln has traveled fewer than 16,000 miles since new and remains in entirely original condition. This car is part of the John O'Quinn Car Collection.

This Presidential Limousine has been used by five American presidents - John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, and Jimmy E. Carter. The custom coachwork on the original car was done by Hess and Eisenhardt Company. Specifications: Engine: V-8, OHV Horsepower: 350 Displacement: 430 cid Weight: 9,800 lbs
